The Miracle of His Resurrection (Matthew 28:1-6): Victory over Death
The last miracle lesson of Jesus that we want to discuss is His lasting victory over death. The Bible puts it profoundly thus: “For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him”—Romans 6:9-10, emphasis mine. Wow!
That beautiful truth is not only applicable to Christ; it extends to us as well. As Christians, death might have power over our bodies, but it has no claim over our souls. For “by His power, God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also,” 1 Corinthians 6:14. For we who are in Christ, “the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory,” 1 Corinthians 15:54; and we shall dance in the face of death and laugh at it. And this will be our song: “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” – 1 Corinthians 15:55-56, KJV. Paul answers that “the sting of death is sin,” but quickly adds “thanks be to God! He gives us the victory [victory over death and sin] through our Lord Jesus Christ,” 1 Corinthians 15:57.
I will conclude with this beautiful Scripture from Paul:
“The death [Christ] died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, [we] count [ourselves] dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 6:10-11
Wonderful! Hallelujah!

I was around 5 when, I am strongly convinced, I first heard the distinct voice of God. But, not until I was 11 (2002) did I have a personal encounter with Him. I was in my room that night, about to pray before bed, when I saw a revelation of how filthy my heart was. I didn't argue with God that I was too young to have such amount of filth ('cause I believed I was a 'good boy,' by human standards, at least). I simply cried uncontrollably in brokenness of heart - "The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God" (Psalm 51:17) - and He didn't.
Still crying uncontrollably, I left my room and went to the living room, where my parents were watching the nightly news on TV. After I managed to tell them about the revelation I saw, my sweet mum took me to her room and led me to Christ. I got saved that night. And 6 years later, I discovered my purpose and assignment on earth, which is raising up men and women to be godly, and teaching them the simplicity of Christianity. More than a decade later, I am still fulfilling that purpose to His glory. Hallelujah!
